About Me.
I started making art in kindergarten when I started to love coloring. I took art classes in middle and high school after that. My favorite way to make art now is by painting. My favorite thing that I made in drawing and painting class was the puppets because I got to learn how to sew. My favorite thing that I made in ceramics was a coil vase because I made it with my favorite colors and loved how it came out. At home I spend a lot of time coloring and drawing. Overall, I just really love art.
The Process
To make this oroject, I first started out by wedging my clay. This helps prep my clay so that there are no air bubbles. Then I made this project by coil building. I had to roll out the coils and then slip and score them together. Once the project was built, I added my handles. Then, I added the sun and the S on the project. After the project was fired in the kiln, I started to glaze it.

Connecting the Capstone
The sun on my project can connect to Arizona becuase it represents how bright they can be. When I am walking I like to see the sunsets and it makes me happy. The S on my project is symbolic for my mom becuase she likes when I make her these things so I wanted to personalize it for her. My mom is a member of the Phoenix Community and I wanted this project to connect to her. I chose the colors to mimic the bright sunsets that I see in Arizona. The bright yellows are for the sun and the blue is meant to show the sky.

Future Changes
In the future, I would like to improve the glaze. Maybe around the appliques, handles, and the inside. My handle also cracked on the side because it started to get too dry, so I would like to improve that in the future.
